Night Night Mum - Rest Well

Enid Mary Bowser Parnham
15th October 1936 - 16th September 2011

“The death of each of us is in the order of things: it follows life as surely as night follows day. We can take the Tree of Life as a symbol. The human race is the trunk and branches of this tree, and individual men and women are the leaves, which appear one season, flourish for a summer, and then die. I am like a leaf of this tree, and one day I shall be torn off by a storm or simply decay and fall, and become part of the earth about its roots. When I die and fall, the tree remains, nourished to some small degree by my brief manifestation of life. Millions of leaves have preceded me and millions will follow me; the tree itself grows and endures”

Changing Time

Purely Abstract - but I love it.
Provocative for me, and thought provoking...
Or just a simple image?
You Choose.

Searching at Easter

Well, I could just have said visiting family back in Essex, as the title here. Then it wouldn't have captured the spirit of this image of Jacqueline on the beach at Frinton. Nor would it have conveyed the fleeting memories of spending time here as a kid myself with my parents on rare beach excursions.

Blessed by weather, good humors and surrounded by my folks - Is there a better way to spend a truely wonderful beginning of spring? A right smorgasbord of Daughters and Parents.

Oh yes, sadly I am too neglectful of these lovely people. Here are two of my aunts, Jess and Beth. I just can't believe that these two girls have a combined age of 164 years. (Am I allowed to say that?) - And yes, I think they really are enjoying their lives. What an inspiration. I just love to listen to their stories. I'd love to write them down. Maybe I should write down some of my own.

But I conclude that even rare glimpses are like gold, to keep and treasure. To spring-board from with joy. Like this occasion with my sister and Brother-in-law... Eating of course. I seem to have done rather a lots of this. Gorged on Food and family. Content and happy. Thank you all.

Re-Birth

Re-inspired, Rested & Recuperated from a photography retreat in Scotland

Spring sprung? New grow showing?

I'm hoping to remain inspired for longer, having spent a week in the Balquhidder Glen in Scotland "creating photographic images". I was hoping to capture an iconic sunrise over Loch Voil. Alas I forgot I would need some help from the weather. Meanwhile, while waiting, how about a rather cliched Spring-time shoot. Once again - I'm hoping to use this blog as a photo journal, with entries at least once a week. Wish me luck!
